To try the examples of this tutorial, you should install the version 3.7 of Squeak. Never versions of Squeak do not offer full support of MVC and are therefore not recommened.
You find all needed files at http://ftp.squeak.org/3.7/.
This page shows three subfolders and three archive files.
To install Squeask 3.7 for windows, you need to download this archive file: http://ftp.squeak.org/3.7/win/Squeak3.7-current-win-full.zip (15,9 MB).
Unpack this archive. It contains 7 files.
To start Squeak 3.7, double-click on the file Squeak.exe or select that file and open it with the "Open"-Option of the explorer menue.
The out-of-the-box installation of Squeak 3.7 is prepared to use the Morphic Toolkit as its user interface. To Use the older MVC toolkit, you have to prepare a MVC project. This is done with the following steps:
Bring up the world menue with a left-click into the background of the Squeak window.
Select the menue item "open...".
A new menue opens, where you select the item "mvc project" - it is the second last item from the bottom. A little window appears.
Move the mouse pointer into that window and left-click. The window is exanded until it covers all of the Squeak window. Now you are in a MVC-project. Any click will open the system menu. From the system menu select "open..." and then "browser" to open the browser.
